Wimpole Street, London

CASE STUDY OVERVIEW

We are generally engaged by managing agents on behalf of freeholders and leaseholder group, however occasionally, we are instructed to carry out inspections, surveys and investigations by contractors.

In this case, the building’s managers had been complaining to the top floor apartment owners that their contractors may have caused a blockage to the soilpipe which ran down the lightwell at the centre of this block of flats. The top floor flat had been recently refurbished throughout. The apartment below was being leaked into. The contractors were confident that they were not to blame and engaged us to investigate and report back, transparently, to all stakeholders.

The contractor has arranged a drainage engineer to come to site. They needed assistance to insert their camera into the soil pipe in question and this is where our rope access services came in.

With our help, we demonstrated that the soilpipe had not been blocked with building materials and our client could prove their innocence! The camera survey did find the blockage through, which was cleared.
